WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – Is he a Batman or a Lex Luthor? That’s pretty much the question put to Elon Musk when he appeared Wednesday night on CBS’ “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.”

Colbert noted that Musk is involved with SpaceX, Tesla, and SolarCity. Then asked the billionaire entrepreneur whether he considers himself a superhero or a supervillain.

Musk seemed at a loss for words, and finally said he just wants to make the world a better place.

But Colbert found himself leaning towards Musk being a force for evil when discussing a plan to colonize Mars.

The Red Planet is inhospitable for humans, of course, but Musk has proposed an idea that could make the freezing, desert world a bit warmer and wetter: nuke it from orbit.

Or rather, detonate nuclear bombs at the poles. Musk called it the “fast way” to make Mars livable.

“You’re a supervillain. That’s what a supervillain does, ” exclaimed Colbert.
