FORT WAYNE, Ind. (CBS Cleveland) – An Indiana woman jumped out of her car while backing out from her driveway Friday afternoon, reports Goshen News, leaving her 9-year-old son inside.

Angela K. Kipp, 35, told police she panicked after seeing a spider on her shoulder.

The Dodge Avenger kept backing out of the driveway with the boy inside.

Authorities say he jumped from the back seat to the front seat and tried to step on the brake pedal, but accidentally hit the accelerator.

That’s when the car hit a school bus. The boy suffered minor head injuries and the driver of the bus was not hurt. There were no students on board the school bus at the time of the accident.

The crash is under investigation. There’s no word on the fate of the spider.
